I want to be a mathematician working in an interdisciplinary environment. I have recently finished an MSc in mathematical modelling (bio-mathematics). Back in school, I always wanted to be an engineer. As I went to university, I entered mathematics instead, as there was no engineering in my city. Soon I discovered the field of applied mathematics, where I felt nearer to my engineering dream. Then, years later, I came to know mathematical modelling is what I was looking for.
I think my main pleasure is to explore the interplay between dynamics and space/geometry/or topology of a structure or a complex system. I also find myself interested in man-made things more than natural phenomena. You see now why I early felt that I belonged to engineers!
All kinds of mechanics are fascinating to me. For me, geometry, mathematics, and engineering are almost one thing.
During my way, I have met many wonderful people who helped me a lot. To them all I say: Thank you.
My favourite sentence: "Let the essence of you define who you are among people". by me :)
